The 18 sciences are mystical, not physical !

Astrology is one of the 18 mystical sciences of the Philosophia Perennis. They are not physical, but mystical. We talked about Yoga and Vedanta, are they physical ? 

Physical astronomers and half Professors cannot understand Universal Mysticism. Physicalists are literalists, they think only the Physical Universe is real. It is not their fault, as they believe Esse Est Percii, only their perceptions. Some of them believe in Creationism, the Six Day Creation Theory and some of them in the Big Bang Theory ! How can Everything come out of Nothing ? Creation ex Nihilo ? 

See, none of the mystics talked about anything physical.

Jesus never spoke about the physical Jerusalem. Look at his statement

"The Kingdom of Heaven is within you and whomsoever shall know himself shall find it"  Know Thyself and find It.

He was a Yogi. He declared Ego sum Alpha et Omega, I am the Alpha and the Omega. He was saying Aham Brahmasmi in another language.

So was Prophet Mohammed. He declared " Anal Huq " . In Arabic Ana means me Al means The and Huq means Truth. He was also declaring Aham Brahmsami in another language. He was a Sufi, a Yogi.

Look at his statement. Take the mystical meaning and not the physical meaning

"The Shariat is my body, the Tariqat my actions and Haqiqat my states".

The mystical meanings are known only to the Yogi, to the Sufi, to the Gnostic, to the Kabalist, to the Zen Master. Do not go by exoteric meaning, go by the esoteric !

What does Bhagavan say?

Sarvasya cha Aham Hridi Sannivishto

Matha Smrithi Jnanam apohanam cha

Sarvescha Vedair   Aham eva   Vedyo

Vedanta krityeva mitheha chaham

I am seated deep

In everybody's heart !

I am He whom the Vedas seek to know

I am the revealer of the Vedanta !

He is in the hearts of all, not in the physical Mecca or the physical Jerusalem !

The Helio Geo Centric Universe !

In Western Astronomy, the Ptolemaic Universe was geocentric. The great poet Dante based his cosmology on the Ptolemaic Universe.

Copernicus changed all that with his Heliocentic Model.

In the East, the Indian astronomer, Neelakantan, proposed a helio geo centric Universe, known as the Neelakantan Universe. This was copied by none other than the Guru of Kepler, Tycho Brahe and he called it the Tychonic Universe.

According to Einstein, all truths are relative and depends on the Observer and his frame of reference. Heliocentric means based on Helios, the Greek word for the Sun, which is derived from the Sanskrit Heli, as per the dictum Heli Soorya Chandraama Sheetharashmi. 

Heliocentric means observed from the Sun, with Helios, the Sun,  as the frame of reference. You cant go the Sun, put a chair there and observe from there ( May be the Noble Professor can do it, as he has called his software, Vishnu, which means all pervading in Sanskrit ).

Geo means Earth and geocentric means based on the Earth.

So children are talking about geocentric and heliocentric, without having any knowledge of Astronomy/Astrology. Ignorance can be excused, as nobody is omniscient !

Now we are under attack from the modern Thibeaus and Whitneys. We have to defend our Philosphy/Astronomy/Astrology from their vicious attacks. So let us be intellectual warriors ( Arundhati Roy is an intellectual warrior. She said Kashmir is Pakistan's, but then she is an intellectual warrior for Pak !)

Vedanta is more logical than Theology or Science !

Let us understand the Law of Correspondences, As Above, so Below. That each part replicatest the Whole. Both are One. Being from One, they correspond !

More logical is Mentalism( Vedanta ) than both Theology and Cosmology which maintain that Everything came out of Nothing. Vedanta explains that there is no material creation, as Matter or Energy cannot be created or destroyed and that the Sum Total Energy in the Universe is an eternal constant, Brahman, Absolute. 

However, there is a mental creation and that the Unvierse is a dream in the Cosmic Mind.

Anadya Vidya thrigunatmika para

Kayanu meya Sudhiyaiva Maya

Yada Jagath Sarvam Idam Prasooyathe.

Unmanifest is the Power of the Lord

Great is the Universal Mind which created
This manifested Universe !

She went forth as Nescience

As the triune attributes of Nature

Satwas, Rajas  and Thamas

And tantalises everyone

As the Consort of the Lord!

Everything did not come out of Nothing, Everything came out of Everything, poornamada poornam idam, both Brahman and Maya are Poornam !

It is more logical than Theology which states the God created the Universe out of Nothing in six days and even more logical than the Big Bang Theory, which states that the Universe was created out of Nothing by Quantum Fluctuations. How can everything come out of Nothing ? ( Somebody said that the Big Bang Theory is nothing but Religion ! )

In his "History of Western Philosophy",  Bertrand Russell defined Philosophy as the No Man's Land between Science and Theology. All dogmas belong to Theology, all established facts belong to Science. In between there is No Man's Land and this is Philosophy ! Ultimately we are on the side of Philosophy, not Theology or Science !

The Rajju Sarpa Nyaya of Vedanta !

In the West, the divine Hermes Trismegistus spelt out the Law of Correspondences saying " That which is on High is that which is on Below, that which is on Below is that which is on High, in order that the Miracle Of Unity may be perpetual".

The physical Sun corresponds to the Inner Sun, as per the Law of Correspondences. As Above, so Below ! 

I will define Rajju Sarpa Nyaya here. For that,  we have to go to the basics of Vedanta and the definitions of the Self, the Non Self etc.

Let us define the Non Self.

Dehendriya prana sukhonamadaya

Sarve Vikara Vishaya sukhadaya

Vyomani Bhoothani Akhilam cha Visvam

Avyakta payantam idam Hya natma 

All sensory organs, all emotions,

All Five Great Elements

From the Macrocosm to the Microcosm

Is NON - SELF !

So you mean to say  all are Non Self ? Yes ! What about the Universe ? Same.

OK, then what is Self, this Ayam Atma Brahma ?

Here is the definition of the Self

Nirguno, nishkriyo, nithyo

Nirvikalpano Niranjanah
Nirvikaro Niraakaro
Nityor mukthosmi Nirmalah

That which is Attributeless

Devoid of any Relativity

Without shape or Form

That is the Absolute SELF !

Yes,  all this is SELF, Satyam Sat Atmeva Jagath Samastham,  and when seen through the Mind ( Universal ) it appears as the Universe, with its myriad forms and names, as Nama and Rupa ! This is Rajju Sarpa Nyaya of Vedanta. The rope is mistaken as the serpent, the Universe is seen through the veil of Mind, through the veil of Maya ! ( We had talked about Mentalism, that all this is Mind, before ) !

Yatra Bhasayathi Visvam
Kalpitham Rajju Sarpavath
Ananda, param Ananda,
Sa bodhasthwam Sukhe Chara !

In Whom all this is illumined

Like the blueness in the sky

Water in the mirage

The Serpent on the Rope

The Universe is an idea

In the Universal Mind !

Know that Bliss to be Thee

And walk in that Bliss Absolute !

Astrology is mystical !

According to Esoteric Wisdom, by Sun we dont mean the physical Sun and by planets we do not mean the physical planets. The Sun is situated in the Heart Chakra, Saturn at the Mooladhara Chakra, Jupiter at Manipura exactly as in the Solar Logos. Here we are talking about Man, the Microcosm replicating the Macrocosm.

The parts are greater than the Whole ? Undoubtedly. The Whole is greater than the sum of its parts ? Indubitably. We are puny parts of the Great Whole, called by us as the Universe. Wholeness is contained in every part !

Let us thank the Lord for these discussions, which can enlighten all.  In his Neurophysiology of Enlgihtenment Dr Robert Keith Wallace said " Enlightenment is the state of perfect order, zero entropy and depends on the harmonious functioning of every part of the body ! He said India is the home  of the most profound knowledge and procedures for the development of Physiology !

Even the Negative becomes Positive due to Thy Grace!  How strange is Thy Grace, Vichithra roopas thavaghal Anugraha !

The Exoteric and the Esoteric !

There are two types of meaning for all in Universal Mysticism, the Exoteric and the Esoteric.

What happens is that people take the exoteric or the  literal meaning and say we are superstitious. The esoteric meaning is known only to an Initiate.When we say we worship snakes, it is not the physical snakes we worship. We worship the inner Snake, the Kundalini, the Serpent Power which lies coiled in humans ( vide Sir John Woodroffe " The Serpent Power " ).

Similarly we do not worship the physicial Sun !

Look at this verse

Sooryam na tva Graha pathim

Jagath Ulpathi Karanam

Vakshyami Veda Nayanam
Yada Brahma Mukha Srutham.

The mystic meaning is that the Almighty Self, which transcend the three states relative, Jagath Ulpathi Karanam, is all in all and the I am telling Thee the Eye of Learning, the Vision of the Vedas, Astrology, and it cometh from a higher states of Consciousness, yada Brahma Mukha srutham !

When we light a Lamp and worship the Lord, we are worshipping the Divinity within. The mystic Ward said " Within, within and within "!

Jnanagnim Bahyavagnim cha Ekeekritya Prapoojayeth

Now when we say that it is not the physical Sun which we worship but the Inner Sun, the Divine Solar Consciousness, which is transcendental and which transcends Swapna, Jagrata and Sushupti, then this  verse becomes pregnant with philosophic meaning.

Yasyodaye Jagath idam Prathibhodham ethi

Madya sthithou prasarathi prakriti kriya su

Mystical Scholarship is different !

It is time we draw a line between academic scholarship ( quoting from books ) and mystical scholarship. In the Masonic Initiation, Dr Wilmhurst says that the wisdom of Jesus confounded the academic, but unenlightened scholars of his era.

Aurobindo says the same thing. This Wisdom is unfit and dangerous to the ordinary human mind and liable to perversions and loss of virtue, if revealed to vulgar and unpurified spirits. So they devised an outer system, the exoteric ( that of temples, churches, mosques and synagogues ), efficient but imperfect,  for the profane. Genuine transcendental wisdom is for him who is purified in soul and awakened in Spirit ! There are Seer Wisdoms which utter their meaning only to the Seer !

Transcendental Wisdom reveals only to the elect and hides Herself from the profane.  For,  this Science of Alchemy can only be taught to suitable and worthy men, because the misuse of it and the powers arising from it is conducive to general and personal evil !

Na Deyam Parshishyaya

Nasthikaya Shadaya cah

Datteyam Pratidinam Dukham

Jeevithe natra Samsaya !

Ye are the light of the world, ye are the salt of the earth!  In Him are all existences contained and we are on our way to Self Actualisation, Swa Vimarshaha Purusharthah !

The Law of the Superconscient Path 

If you are sure of the Divine Call and if thy soul wants to fufill that Divine Will, there can be immense progress for thee in the difficult path of Yoga.

If the call is not true, and only the lure of thy ego, the end of thy effort will be a spiritual disaster.

And if it is not the soul’s assent and vigour but only an egotistic interest or an intellectual pride or only the lower mind which tries to clutch at some side attractions of the fruits of Yoga, then again there can be no surety for thee in the rugged path of Yoga.

The Titanic inner battle going on in the human bosom is formidable and the outer instruments of man have no force to carry him through the severe rigours of this difficult journey. Terrible are the ordeals, trials and tribulations. Only his spirit’s indomitable will and the insatiable thirst for Immortality is sufficient for him to succeed.

Things that were hidden by the silence of the hours
Ideas that found no voice on human lips
The soul’s pregnant meeting with Infinity
Had come to birth in him and taken fire ! - ( Aurobindo ).

In the initial stages of Yoga, one will find that a power not located in the body but possessing it, is thinking for you and propelling you and that your body entire is moved by that force and not by yourself !

Even if His presence is felt behind the veil in the difficult path of Yoga, it is like the winter sun behind the clouds and saves one not from the rain and snow ! But the help is there, even when it seems to be withdrawn, but the background of the sunless total darkness still hovers around us !

The Divine Mother hath a face beautiful but She also has another face. The other face is the total darkness associated with tests and tribulations, the Dark Night of the Soul and Dark Night of the Spirit.

The Dark Night of the Spirit is combustion. Combustion is passion, combustion is Crucifixon. One will have to bear the Cross and may be crucified by the people one loves !

Can the Divine Crown be given to a weakling ? Or is Self Actualisation a prize to be given without effort ? Your trust will be justified ultimately and if you strive rightly, thou shalt have ! But the dread Law of the Path is there and the formidable trials and tribulations have to be overcome, in order to attain Self-Actualisation !

We find that there many trials and tribulations on the path divine. These are parts of the process and tests of fidelity.

When with pain thou hast destroyed the inner enemies, other thousands will rise up like a ten headed Hydra. The Negative Aspect will vomit its hordes to wound and threaten thee, to bring thee to terra firma. Heaven will test thee with its pitiless trials and cold denials, testing here and there thy will to trascend, testing thy patience, purity and perseverance. In thy anguish thou shalt find thyself isolated, the inner enemies furious in thy path, the positive elements unwilling above thee. Powerful, cruel, menacing, innumerable and close are the sinister powers that profit by Ignorance and which will block change in the body, the change which will be inimical to them. Far away are the Positive Elements who are permitted to help thee.
Each step of the ladder climbed is only a step on the way and there are many stairs to climb, to reach Heaven’s threshold, the Goal of Self Actualisation. Each victory which thou prize is only the prelude to a hundred thousand fierce battles, which are about to come ! But thou sayest Divine Grace is me, I have the Lord’s support and there are divine forces out to help me. Knowest thou not that Divine Grace is far more difficult to obtain than the Wealth of this world or the mundane Crown ?

Ask His instruments and they will tell you how often He had hid himself from them, how often He had hid in his veil mysterious , that they found themselves in the midst of Hell, in the abysmal darkness, totally defenceless in the anguish of the battle !

The Way or the Path is not easy. It is dangerous and difficult, if not long and rugged. Each step forward is a battle. There are alarming descensions and there are endless ascensions and higher and higher peaks left to conquer.

It has been referred to as Jacob’s ladder in Freemasonry. Tennyson defined it as

The world’s great altar stairs
Which slopes through darkness upto God !

This is the golden ladder by which we ascend to Self Actualisation, crossing many a trial and tribulation .

At every step there is unfortunately an ambush and a pitfall at every turn. We have to have implicit faith and an indomitable will to conquer our inner enemies. A thousand enemies, seen or unseen, will start up against thee, powerful against thy weaknesses and frailties, and awfully majestic against thy ignorance ! Fear not, the Grace Divine is with you and thou shalt not fail !
